Summer Scholar Education Modules

Students begin with the core concepts of data and analytics, building fluency in statistics, data storytelling, and analytical thinking. Lessons introduce the language of data, explain how to form powerful questions, and explore case studies demonstrating data’s role in solving real-world problems. Students also complete an AI Fundamentals Certification, covering key topics such as machine learning, large language models (LLMs), ChatGPT, and ethical principles of AI use.

This hands-on module introduces students to popular generative AI tools used in modern workplaces. Students gain experience with platforms like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Synthesia, Gamma, Soundraw, and Google Gemini, learning how to use AI to improve writing, presentations, research, automation, and creative expression. The goal is to build confidence in applying AI across academic and professional environments.

Students explore critical issues at the intersection of AI and society, including transparency, bias, privacy, fairness, and accountability. Through guided reflection and analysis, scholars learn how to responsibly engage with AI tools while protecting communities and promoting equity. This module emphasizes ethical decision-making, community awareness, and lifelong learning in AI.
