Family Engagement:
The Role of Mothers

A defining strength of the DGS-JJAP is its family-powered model. Mothers are intentionally woven into the student journey to create a collective, supportive learning environment.

  • Kickoff with Mothers – Families begin the program together. Mothers gain clarity on goals, expectations, and ways to support their child.

  • Monthly Meetups with Mothers – Structured check-ins provide updates on progress, insights into lessons, and strategies to extend learning into daily family life.

  • Capstone Celebration – Families come together to celebrate student achievements as participants present their projects and reflect on their growth.

This family-centered structure ensures that the program develops students both academically and socially—true to Jack and Jill’s mission.

A Message from the Program Leader

Claudette Keen

Chief Programs Officer, SaNDAI Global & SaNDAI Cares

We created DataGen Scholar to open doors for students who may not have envisioned themselves in technology, data, or AI. This program is not just about learning; it’s about earning while learning, building confidence, and preparing for the jobs of tomorrow.

This movement is bigger than any single student. It’s about shaping the future workforce and ensuring that every community has a stake in the AI economy. With your support as parents, donors, and partners, we can prepare the next generation not just to adapt to the future, but to lead it.

Welcome to the future. Welcome to DataGen Scholar.

Madetric Wood

My name is Madetric Nafaye Wood. I am a Nurse Practitioner, entrepreneur, and community leader dedicated to advancing healthcare access and empowering youth. I own and operate a primary-care outpatient practice in Florida that delivers innovative, patient-centered care. As a committed mentor and volunteer, I precept Nurse Practitioner students, provide care at the HANDS Clinic of St. Lucie County, and serve as Co-Lead Teen Advisor for Jack and Jill of America, Treasure Coast Chapter, where I guide teens ages 12–18 in leadership, service, and scholarship.

I believe every Jack and Jill child should have the opportunity to participate in programs like DataGen Scholar – Jack and Jill of America. This program equips our youth with essential skills in data, technology, and leadership, preparing them to thrive in a future where innovation and knowledge are the keys to success. It is an investment in their growth, confidence, and ability to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond. Nearly 30 students between the Treasure Coast and Suncoast Chapters will begin the DataGen Scholar – Jack and Jill of America program in October 2025, and I could not be more excited to see the transformation it will bring.

I warmly invite other Jack and Jill mothers or chapters to reach out to me at madetricwood@gmail.com if they have questions about the program or would like to explore how their children can participate.
