How It Works

Your step-by-step guide to enrollment, success, and earning

1. Apply to the program

Submit your application to officially begin your DataGen Scholar journey. Enrollment begins June 1, 2025 but it is ok to apply today!

2. Attend an in-person enrollment session

Learn about the program and meet the SaNDAI Cares team. Should be attended with your parent or guardian. These are invitation only events.

3. Secure your spot with a $200 commitment fee*

Pay the reimbursable $200 commitment fee to confirm your enrollment. This fee will be refunded at the start of Month 7 once you:

  • Complete Modules 1–4

  • Earn your Data Literacy and AI Fundamentals certificates

  • Have a validated LinkedIn profile by SaNDAI Cares

*Need assistance with the fee? You may complete 20 hours of community service through SaNDAI Cares instead. All service hours must be completed before the program begins on September 1, 2025.

5. Set up your LinkedIn profile

Create your professional LinkedIn profile within the first 10 days to start building your digital footprint.

6. Earn your certifications

Complete key modules and receive both your Data Literacy and

AI Fundamentals certificates within the first 60 days of the program.

7. Complete all assigned tasks (the “Money menu”)

For the first 180 days, follow the Money Menu — a guided roadmap of lessons, tasks, and deliverables designed to build skills and earn your money.

8. Get paid + reimbursed

At the start of Month 7, receive your $1,000+ performance-based payment for completed tasks during the first half of the program, plus a full reimbursement of your $200 fee — a reward for your commitment and success.

9. Pass the midpoint exam

Demonstrate your knowledge by passing the DataGen Scholar midpoint assessment.

10. Enter module 5: ai-aides micro job

Apply what you’ve learned in a real-world setting — assisting SaNDAI or its clients. Earn up to $2,000 during the final six months of the program. + Additionally, complete 10 hours of community service at a Virginia-based community health center or safety net service provider to deepen your impact.

11. Graduate with distinction

Receive your official DataGen Scholar Program Completion Certificate, signaling your readiness for future academic, civic, or professional opportunities.

*The DataGen Scholar Program is currently undergoing accreditation review by the American Accreditation Association. We anticipate full accreditation by September 1, 2025.
